The short story...
Beth Chen is a classical pianist passionate about bringing music to the public through a variety of music genres. As well as performing in formal concert settings, she enjoys connecting with her audience using social media and informal venues. After many years abroad, Beth has settled back in Wellington where she regularly performs with Wellington Six Hands Trio and Duo Enharmonics.
The long story...
Beth grew up in New Zealand where she completed Master of Music in Piano Performance with Distinction at Victoria University Wellington. Beth performed, taught and furthered her musical training in Europe and Australia. She performed extensively in Germany, France, Italy, England, Scotland at venues such as St. Martin-in-the-Fields , Southwark Cathedral, Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, Chapel Royal Brighton and as a part of Edinburgh International Festival. Her performances have been broadcast in television and Concert FM.
Beth is the laureate of numerous prizes and awards. These included Christchurch National Concerto Competition, Victoria University Concerto Competition. Kerikeri International Piano Competition, Kapiti Piano Competition and North Queensland Piano and Instrumental Concerto Competition in Australia. She has appeared as a soloist with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, Victoria University Orchestra, Wellington Chamber Orchestra and Neues Telemann Kammerorchester.
